A film, on film?!?

The last time I worked on a feature that shot on actual film was back in 2009 (Five Time Champion), right as the Red One was becoming ubiquitous. We just wrapped an extraordinary project that shot in upstate New York, using an Arri 416. I was blown away at how quiet that camera was compared to my previous experience. The follow focus motor was more noticeable than the film cruising through the mag.

I’ll be able to talk more about this once they get further along in post, but it was the same folks who created Jockey and Transpecos.

Facing Nolan Update…

It’s not everyday your work is seen/heard at a major league baseball stadium, but that’s what happened with Facing Nolan last Sunday. The Ryan family and others were there for a pre-show Q&A and our brave director, Bradley Jackson, got to throw out the first pitch for the Rangers/Braves game earlier in the day. Rangers won, 7-3, by the way!

SXSW 2022 – Facing Nolan

Always fun to get to premiere something in your home town. Facing Nolan is a feature-length documentary about living legend baseball hall-of-famer Nolan Ryan. We spent over a year gathering this project’s content and it’s a good one.

Sundance 2021!

Happy to report that the film Jockey, which we shot in October of 2019 in Phoenix, had a great Sundance premiere last Sunday and Sony Pictures Classics has nabbed distribution. Clifton Collins Jr. also received a Best Actor jury award. Q and A here.
